Amidst the majestic aura of Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland, a ceremony was orchestrated by Disneyland Resort on Friday to unveil the heralded Disneyland Ambassador 2015-2016 Team, upholding a cherished tradition initiated by Walt Disney half a century ago.
The privilege of being invited to such an extraordinary gathering at Disneyland was indeed a remarkable opportunity. Regrettably, my presence was not feasible; nevertheless, disseminating this Disneyland revelation straight from the preeminent figurehead feels akin to experiencing it firsthand.
Out of a vast assembly of 26,000 cast members, two individuals were singled out as ambassadors of goodwill during the 50th anniversary commemoration of the Ambassador Program. Depicted in the accompanying image, Jessica Bernard, Julie Reihm Casaletto, and Allie Kawamoto stand in succession. Disney holds an indispensable position within our familial sphere, and encountering the Disneyland Ambassadors would have undoubtedly been an enchanting experience. Keep an eye out for Jessica and Allie as they embark on a transformative journey, sprinkling pixie dust wherever their paths may lead.
Unveiling the Disneyland Ambassador 2015-2016 Team
In an elaborate ceremony at the resplendent Sleeping Beauty Castle, Michael Colglazier, President of Disneyland Resort, declared that Jessica Bernard and Allie Kawamoto, esteemed members of the Resort and its vast array of 26,000 cast members, would serve as the 2015-2016 Disney Ambassador team, as part of a program celebrating its illustrious 50-year history. This program was initially conceived by Walt Disney in 1965 to aid him in propagating the enchantment, inspiration, and optimism embodied by Disneyland. Julie Reihm Casaletto, the pioneer Disney Ambassador handpicked by Walt Disney himself, extended a warm welcome to the new team during today’s ceremony.
Bernard and Kawamoto emerged triumphant from a rigorous selection process involving nearly 60 contenders. Their mandate entails a two-year stint devoted to disseminating the magic of the Resort within the community, serving as emissaries of goodwill. As part of their onerous responsibilities, they will represent the Resort at sundry events, including hospital visits featuring beloved Disney characters, promotional tours, and cast accolade ceremonies. Moreover, they will serve as spokespersons for the Resort.
“Disney Ambassadors have played a pivotal role at the Disneyland Resort over the past five decades,” remarked Michael Colglazier, President of the Disneyland Resort. “This enduring tradition shall undoubtedly persevere as Allie and Jessica aid us in propagating the jubilation surrounding our forthcoming 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration among our esteemed guests, community, and fellow cast members.” What impact do video games have on a child’s development? Separate fact from fiction in this article.
In 2007, Kawamoto embarked on her illustrious career with Disney through the Disney College Program, culminating in her recent role as a food and beverage manager on Main Street, U.S.A. She actively participated in the Resort’s Emerging Leaders Program and currently serves as a member of the Disney VoluntEAR Leadership Council. Kawamoto hails from Cerritos, California.
Bernard commenced her affiliation with Disney in 2012, initially venturing into the realm of entertainment, where she dazzled audiences in productions such as “Mickey & the Magical Map.” Her altruistic endeavors extend to volunteering with various organizations, including The Ronald McDonald House and Mary’s Soup Kitchen. Bernard’s roots trace back to Bend, Oregon.
The tradition that germinated at Disneyland half a century ago has since proliferated, encompassing Ambassadors at Disney Destinations across the globe, with recent additions including Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, and Shanghai Disney Resort, slated to designate its inaugural Ambassadors this year.
